The Clayton American Legion Post 821 would like to recognize the importance of the 10th Mountain Division and Fort Drum for their importance to the region. Not only the billion dollar impact to the local economy, but the families and friends that are shared in the surrounding communities. We would also like to thank all the troops for fighting for our freedom everyday whether here or overseas. Please help us and show your support now and in the future.
The Clayton American Legion has been involved with many activities with Fort Drum. These activities range in scope but every activity is important and touches many lives not only for the troops but for everyone in the community.
The photo below is a result of Adopt-A-Platoon that the Legion and Clayton Chamber of Commerce supported. The program sent hard to find articles to the troops while serving in Afghanistan. In addition to sending monthly care packages a group from the Clayton Post went to Fort Drum to see them off for their deployment.
Another event was a Day for Eagle Company. Once again the event was again organized by the Clayton Chamber and the Clayton American Legion. The event started as a cookout with games and ended as a full day of fun and outside activities for all who attended.
The Clayton Post 821 also supports DAV (Disabled American Veterans) www.dav.org by providing transportation for any Veteran to Fort Drum for medical visits and therapy.
